Et puis les pommes c’est facile à manger. Entière, en salade, en tarte, en compote… Voici une idée de recette simple tirée du livre Desserts Traditionnels d’Alsace par Thierry Kappler

Äpfelmüess Tàrt

Il vous faut : 500g de pate feuilletée, 500g de compote de pommes (ou de quetsches), 1 jaune d’oeuf et sucre glace.

On abaisse la pâte dans un moule (rond ou rectangulaire) puis on étale la compote (maison ou pas) de façon régulière sur la pâte en laissant environ 2cm de livre à la périphérie. Et avec le reste de la pâte on coupe à la roulette ou au couteau des bandelettes. On les place ensuite en formant un décor géométrique sur la compote. Puis on dore les bandelettes et la périphérie du fond de pâte avec le jaune d’oeuf.

On enfourne pendant 40 minute, thermostat 7 ou 8. Une fois sortie, on laisse refroidir un peu avant de saupoudrez de sucre glace. Et on consomme directement !

And apples are easy to eat. Whole apple, apple salad, apple pie or apple compote… Here’s an idea of a very simple recipe from that book Desserts Traditionnels d’Alsace par Thierry Kappler. It’s called Äfelmüess tart.

You will need 500g of puff pastry, 500g of apple compote, 1 yolk and icing sugar.  Lower the dough (puff pastry) in a pan (round or rectangular) and then spread the compote (homemade or not) evenly over the dough. Just leave about 2 cm empty at the periphery. With all the dough left, make strips with your knife. Then place them on the pie and try to make a geometric shape. Put the egg yolk on the strips and the periphery. And finally put the pie in the hover for 40 minutes at th.7 or 8. Once it’s done, let it cool for a little while before dusting with icing sugar. Eat it right away!
